Please welcome Dr. Michael A. Brown to Clark College as our new Dean of Clark Libraries and Academic Success Services. Here is an introduction in his own words:

I’ve worked in higher education for over twelve years. My professional roles have varied but were always student-centered. I first served as a program coordinator where I worked with first-generation college students in helping them successfully navigate their college experiences. I then moved into positions of leadership where I managed all facets of learning environments designed to enhance the academic experience of college-level students. I dedicated my time to increasing the visibility of academic services by collaborating and developing a positive rapport with administrators and faculty. It was also in these roles where I developed academic skills advising programs and worked passionately to increase the representation of diversity in the positions of student tutors and peer coaches.

My ultimate goal as Dean of Clark Libraries and Academic Success Services is to continue the already great work being facilitated by the outstanding professional staff members who make up the unit. I also want to ensure we are creating safe educational spaces that welcome the diversity of Clark’s entire student body.
